The brief I agreed with them was deliberately narrow: current workflow outcome parity. Not “which product is best”, but could the firm achieve the same operational outcomes on an alternative provider with minimal or no workflow change. That framing is what makes the answer defensible in front of a procurement board.

The work: marketplace assessment, candidate identification, an audit of each candidate against the firm’s actual workflows (not the vendors’ feature sheets), client trials and demonstrations, then a full report and recommendation.
